Ingredients:
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon sake
1 teaspoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
0.5 teaspoon grated fresh garlic
0.25 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
1 pound pork spareribs
Directions:
- Start by gathering all your ingredients. It makes everything easier, trust me!
- In a shallow glass dish, mix together the hoisin sauce, ketchup, honey, soy sauce, sake, rice vinegar, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, and five-spice powder.
- Now, add those beautiful pork spareribs to the dish and turn them around to coat every inch in that sticky marinade. Cover up and let them marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours or up to overnight for max flavor.
- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grab a broiler tray and fill it with water to cover the bottom—it helps keep the ribs moist. Place a rack over the tray and arrange the ribs on that.
- Cook those ribs in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. Every 10 minutes, give them a turn and brush on some of that marinade—you want them nice and glazed!
- For the final 10 minutes, let the marinade really cook into the ribs for a luscious glaze. If you want an extra crispy finish, pop them under the broiler for a couple of minutes. Just be careful not to burn them!
- Remember to discard any leftover marinade—safety first! Now serve your juicy ribs and enjoy every bite!
